Mother’s Day DIY

It’s Mother’s Day!
I always enjoy making my mom a gift on top of buying her things for Mother’s Day. I don’t think you’re ever too old to make mom a gift! I took this idea from Pinterest along with my obsession for candles.

What you will need:

Preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure that you have the proper pan for this. I ended up using a bread pan and it worked perfectly. I used one brick of wax to make six candles and still had a ton of wax leftover. You wall want to make sure to cut the bar of wax into a few pieces. They do not have to be super tiny…

I put my pan of wax in the oven for 45 minutes. You will want to check on it after about 20 minutes and stir it a little bit to make sure the wax is breaking up.

After the wax has been melted, you will add in a scent. I picked vanilla this time but you can add anything your heart desires! I ended up using the entire tube for my candles.

Next you will add a color if you would like. I chose the color blue and added about half of the tube which created a very pretty light blue.aa212776-aab3-4dca-83d2-cce6023b13bc

Make sure you put your wicks in before you pour the wax in! I ended up taping the top portion of the wick to a pen in order to hold the wick up as the wax dried. Make sure you warm your teacups up before pouring your wax. You do not want the cups to break! I just ended up using extremely hot water from the sink to do this part.

These took time to dry. I ended up starting this project at 8 p.m. in the evening and then I let them sit overnight. It’s fun and easy to make these! I love picking out the teacups or you can even use a coffee cup.

Hope you enjoyed this post!
